Welcome to the Official Website of Bethel St. George Orthodox Pilgrim Church, Nallila. Our Church is a part of the Indian Orthodox Church under the Catholicate of the East with Headquarters at Devalokam, Kottayam, Kerala.
Bethel St. George Orthodox Pilgrim Church, Nallila popularly known as "Nallila Vadakke Pally" situated at the heart of Nallila-A calm and cool small town at Nedumpana Panchayath, Kollam District in Kerala is one of the prominent parishes under the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. There are about 400 families and 2000 Members under the parish spread around Nallila. The 100 years old church is under the direct jurisdiction and administration of the Metropolitan of Kollam Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Our present Metropolitan for Kollam Diocese is H.G Zachariah Mar Anthonios. Presently, Rev. Fr. Jose M Daniel, West Kallada, Kollam has been appointed the Vicar of our Church, and has joined on 15th May, 2014.
As the recognition of the important role of this parish in the mission and witness of the Holy Church, the Supreme Pontiff of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church His Holiness the Catholicose of the East Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose Second was declared as the Bethel St. George Orthodox Syrian Church, Nallila as "The Georgian Pilgrim Centre of the East".
The Holy Relic of St. Gregorios of Parumala was installed at our church, on November 11, 2011 by Metropolitan H.G. Paulose Mar Pachomius of Mavelikara Diocese. The Holy relic of "Parumala Thirumeni" was placed in the special place constructed in the Church.
Now our Church has reached the golden mark of crossing 100 years of fruitful service to the Indian Orthodox Church and Nallila community in particular. The celebrations will commence from January 2014 and ends by January 2015. Dignitaries from Indian Orthodox Churches along with the political, social and ecumenical leaders will accompany to grace this occasion.
